Global crude steel production increased 1.3% in October 2012.
According to the latest  statistics of the World Steel, global crude steel production in October 2012 totaled 126.2 million tons, up 1.3% compared to the same period last year.
In October 2012, the EU crude steel yield reach 14.22 million tons, down 6.2%; the CIS reached 9.92 million tons, up 4.4%; North America reached 9.76 million tons, up 1.4%; South America reached 4.18 million tons, up 4.7%; Asia reached 81.73 million tons, up 2.8%; all compared with the same month in 2012. In the first 10 month of 2012, global crude steel production totaled 1 278 billion tons, an increase 0.7% compared to the same period last year.

Among them, EU reached 144 million tons, down 4.7%. CIS reached 94.65 million tons, up 0.7%. North America reached 102.5 million, up 3.3%. South America reached 39.51 million tons, down 3.1% and Asia reached 831 000 tons, up 1.7% compared to the same period last year.
